Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania and is now a Romanian/German actress. Her most famous films are Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her career in showbiz as a child. She played lead roles in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall.
